About the name

Throughout 2022 and 2023, early users of AI tools discovered that typing "ignore all previous instructions" could sometimes break a language model out of its script and reveal what was underneath. It became the signature phrase of prompt injection, or getting past the official version of things.

We borrowed the phrase because the old instructions for how work, learning, craft, and community are coming loose. What replaces them isn’t decided yet. This is a moment of rare openness and opportunity to shape what comes next.
